We had the pleasure of printing Rita Bradd’s book ‘Clipper Ship City of Adelaide BENEATH THE SOUTHERN CROSS’ that contains the story of how the oldest surviving composite clipper ship in the world, City of Adelaide, was rescued from demolition at the Scottish Maritime Museum.
The author commented:
“I had the very special experience of being involved in the layout of my non-fiction book, ‘Clipper Ship City of Adelaide BENEATH THE SOUTHERN CROSS’, designed by Robert Randall. From the very beginning, he recommended Latimer Trend as printers. With a very tight timeline, my books were delivered on the specified date. I was so excited when they arrived. I slit open the first box. Seeing, touching and smelling the stunning, high-spec books was absolutely thrilling and filled me with pride. The books have the ‘WOW!’ factor and are proving very popular with the public. Thank you, Latimer Trend, for a job well done in embodying twenty years of my passion for clipper ship City of Adelaide in this fabulous creation.
The 12th August 2019 marks the 155th anniversary of when 1864 clipper ship City of Adelaide left Plymouth on her maiden voyage. The real-life heroine in my story boarded here on route for Adelaide, South Australia. To have my book virtually launched in Latimer Trend’s portfolio is very pertinent and exciting, and such a coincidence you are based in Plymouth!”

Setting The Record Straight is a limited-edition hardback book we printed. The book is individually numbered on the front endpaper and was fully manufactured at Latimer Trend, using the latest print and bindery machinery.
The client commented “I just had my first book published and I was delighted with the ultra-professional service delivered by Latimer Trend. From the outset when we discussed terms and cost, they were both competitive and captured my requirements. The finished book looks and feels amazing.”
This book was the labour of love for the last five years for the author.
The author commented “The final product was everything I had hoped for, in terms of visual impact, feel, and print quality. I know that due to its specification the book presented the production team with a few challenges, and I spent some time watching conscientious employees doing their utmost to ensure that the final product met the high standards we had all set. The managing director even appeared at that point to see how things were going, and I have to say that he and everyone I had contact with at Latimer Trend made me feel that I was their biggest and most valued customer.”
There is no magic about what we do – it is merely patient attention to detail.
Latimer Trend, summed up brilliantly by the client!
"As always, it was a real pleasure working with Latimer Trend on this project. This piece had to be absolutely perfect in every way. With Latimer’s attention to detail from both a print and binding perspective along with first class customer service, we received a finished piece exceeded all expectations and was a real showpiece for our event."
“This is the second magazine we have printed with Latimer and I would highly recommend them. Not only was their print quality excellent, but the service and attention to detail are second to none. From working on a tight deadline to keeping me informed of the process, you get the feeling that nothing is too much trouble and they care as much about the job as you do. Thanks to them I have a very happy client!”
We printed this book, full of a stunning array of photographs from both the stage and the rehearsal studio, celebrating the Royal Ballet’s productions from their 2017/18 season. The soft laminated cover, the dramatic performances captured in the photographs and quality of the print makes this book hard to put down. Our client’s response was “a beautifully produced book”. Another example of our work for a global brand completed all in-house at Latimer Trend and Company Ltd.
This catalogue for an international manufacturer of bathroom fixtures and fittings uses matt laminate and hi-build UV varnish on the outer cover. The hi-build varnish creates a tactile cover. The text section of the catalogue uses silk stock for the product placement photographs and an uncoated stock is used for the technical specifications of products.
We printed, thread sewn and case bound all in-house, ‘The Muppets – Take The O2’ tour programme. Another tour programme for a global act, we had the pleasure of printing.
“The books are FANTASTIC – thank you so much for this” said the designer and “You guys are AWESOME” was the feedback from our client.
To celebrate 35 years of the Harley Owners Group, Latimer Trend printed a beautiful limited edition souvenir book. Only 1,115 copies of the 'The Harley Owner Group 35 Years of Freedom and Adventure' were printed. Just another timeless and iconic book produced by Latimer Trend.
This high-end kitchen brochure is printed on Essential Offset. Printing on uncoated has its challenges, but we have the skills to produce vibrant colour reproduction on uncoated stocks. The text section is printed on 120 Essential Offset, a bulky stock, but look at those perfect match ups across the spreads on a PUR bound brochure. Every element of this brochure, repro, print, folding and PUR binding was completed with aplomb at Latimer Trend.
This calendar was beautifully hand finished. Consisting of sixteen leaves, all printed on 250 gsm Essential Offset, this was no ordinary calendar. The brass screws were sourced to match the brass taps that appeared in calendar and the cord to match the client’s showroom colour palette. Each leave was micro-perforated, collated, drilled and assembled by hand with two brass screws and hanging cord.
We produced this case bound reference book for our client. The client is the proud leader in contemporary design and manufacture of hardwood steel reinforced doorsets in the UK. Their doors now adorn hundreds of exceptional properties across the UK, Europe and further afield.
They approached Latimer Trend to produce a book that will appeal to architects and designers. Wanting to produce a timeless reference guide that clients will reach for time after time, hence the need to ensure its durability that echoes their doors.
The end project, a beautifully printed and constructed case bound brochure, was received with rave reviews and the client was ecstatic with the end project. "So so happy with my book, thank you! It looks amazing" commented the client.
We are holding the books in stock and are distributing on a regular basis to purchasers.
